The hotel features a prominent fashion exhibition and textile museum, inviting visitors to explore local designers, enjoy fashion shows, and delve into Newark’s textile history. Guest room interiors are all by local artists, with the goal of evoking the same aesthetic as a backstage dressing room. Clad in sleek black metal, which is inspired by patent leather, the Moda Hotel uses aluminum anodized chain links to resemble flowing silk fabrics, and supergraphics to illustrate cultural patterns on the facade. The rooftop spaces are then used as dynamic venues for open-air design events.

Situated at the heart of Newark’s Central Business District, the Moda Hotel is a tribute to the city’s diverse fashion landscape and textile heritage. Billowing fabric overhangs create interesting lighting effects, and Afro-Latine influences in Newark’s fashion history are also highlighted in the through furniture and textiles throughout the building.
